Grants and FundingGrants up to £2500 are available to households for renewable energy systems such as wind turbines. Interest free loans are available to businesses for energy saving. Enhanced capital allowances allow businesses to write off the capital cost of renewable energy related equipment against taxable profits in the year the investment was made. Capital grants up to a maximum of £50000 - 50% of the cost of the project are available to non profit community based associations e.g. parish halls, church halls, schools and charities. Government proposal to substantially increase payments for grid connected electricity microgeneration. |
