• Low Carbon Buildings Programme

Grants up to £2500 are available to households for renewable energy systems such as wind turbines.

• The Carbon Trust

Interest free loans are available to businesses for energy saving.

• Enhanced Capital Allowance

Enhanced capital allowances allow businesses to write off the capital cost of renewable energy related equipment against taxable profits in the year the investment was made.

• The Community Energy Sustainability Programme

Capital grants up to a maximum of £50000 - 50% of the cost of the project are available to non profit community based associations e.g. parish halls, church halls, schools and charities.

• Feed-in Tariff (FIT)

Government proposal to substantially increase payments for grid connected electricity microgeneration.
